Bird, Limes, bah! How hard can it be to create a scooter share? 😁

Walking to work I see plenty of electric scooters on the side walk, and I figure I could make something like that. So here it goes, let’s see what it takes to replicate a service similar to what existing scooter shares offer. Now obviously, being just one person I cannot actually compete with a startup like, Bird nor do I intend to make a product that has the same level of polish and features as theirs. I am shooting for a service that is a rough approximation at a way smaller scale.

The basic idea behind Creatures is to see what it takes to start up a company, document the process, and open source as much as possible; in effect create a business model as an open source project.

My intention is not to necessarily start up a successful company, rather it is to experiment, learn a lot, and maybe have a bit fun.

  • Focus on a minimal viable product and a low barrier to entry.
  • Raise money for charity - match at least the project cost
